ANVIL AND LOOM: FOUNDATION The Realm and Overland Update Release 0.1.4 | October 21, 2026 | Windows 64-bit Roll the dice. Draw your world. Make it yours. ABOUT FOUNDATION Foundation is a free tabletop workspace for playing from your own books. Draw maps, roll genuine physical 3D dice, maintain editable sheets, keep a linked journal, and import your own tables. Your books supply the rules and content. Published rulebooks, encounter tables and creature collections are not included. Records and templates remain player-created and editable. WHAT IS NEW IN 0.1.4 - Six Realm sheets, opened through the castle icon below Character. - Compact two-line building, housing, land and unclaimed-land registers. - Building HP limits and independent housing Unrest. - Reusable Building, House and Manor templates with drag-and-drop copies. - Shared per-character Kaladear favor and a ten-point Corruption track. - A six-round/twelve-month calendar, visit checks and turn checklist. - A far-right Fabled & Mythical character tab with independent equip switches. - Drawn rivers, roads, walls and filled lakes on overland hex maps. - Repeating terrain textures for Area land types and a fuller landmark key. GETTING STARTED 1. Create or open a 2d6 Dungeon campaign and enter your character's records. 2. Click the castle beneath the Character icon to open Realm sheets. 3. Name your realm and enter its treasury, wellness and standing. 4. Expand Realm calendar to mark the year, month, round and visits. 5. Add buildings, housing and plots in their respective register tabs. 6. Create Building templates from your book and drag copies into a register. 7. Use Overland maps for hex regions, terrain, landmarks and drawn features. 8. Use the Fabled & Mythical character tab for your expansion equipment. REALM SHEETS Ledger - Treasury, income, High Actuary modifiers, wellness and temporary wellness. - Decor and improvements, eyesores and atrophy, title claim area and title. - Year history and notes, with references in supported text fields. - Select the character whose Kaladear favor and Corruption you are editing. Secrets & Legends - Blank clue/discovery fields and notes for the secrets and legends. - Editable landowner relationships, including gift and threat tracks. Buildings and Houses & Manors - Plot, type, size, level, rank modifier, income and worker records. - Two writing lines per entry, with wider names and compact numeric fields. - Click Notes or Assigned to open the full text in a separate editor. - Set Maximum HP to place a visible limit marker on the condition track. - Houses/manors use the spaces after that marker for separate Unrest. - Mark HP and Unrest yourself. Construction, repairs, unrest consequences, worker changes, costs and benefits are not applied automatically. - Changing Maximum HP preserves existing HP and Unrest. If a saved value exceeds the new limit, use the review button to edit it deliberately. Land and Unclaimed Land - Plot/area tags, type/base, size, rank and rank modifiers. - Claimed land also records taxes and Building Points. - Unclaimed land records its owner and details. Register search finds entered text. Removing a row can be reversed with Undo. The export icon produces Markdown containing the Realm records, templates and selected character's favor/Corruption. Realm sheets save with the campaign. BUILDING TEMPLATES Open Building templates in Buildings or Houses & Manors. Choose New template, then select Building, House or Manor and enter your own details: - Name, cost, maximum HP, size/BP, workers, rank modifier and income. - Description, prerequisites, plot requirements, benefits and upgrades. - Source or page references. Drag a card into the register, or click its + button to add a copy. Placed copies are independent: editing or deleting a template leaves existing buildings intact. Each copy retains the full template details in its notes. Adding a copy does not spend resources or mark construction progress. KALADEAR FAVOR AND CORRUPTION Realm Ledger -> Standing and Character -> Magic & favor use the same character-owned record. Switching characters selects that person's values. - Current: the recorded current favor total. - Permanent: favor marked with stars, retained as a minimum when available. - Blocked: spaces marked with crosses; blocked spaces cannot provide favor. - Available: the displayed favor after permanent and blocked markers. - Corruption: ten manual pips, plus a notes area for your effects/reminders. Mark blocked favor and apply other consequences yourself. Corruption does not automatically change favor, spells, armor, HP, buildings or wellness. Older Realm saves may have a separate ledger favor total. A review message lets you apply that total to the selected character or keep the character's current total. Both previous values are retained in Realm notes. REALM CALENDAR Expand the calendar above the Realm tabs. It contains an editable year, twelve month markers, six round markers, and independent Town/Dungeon visit checks for the current month. The end-of-turn checklist covers income, taxes, construction/repairs, wellness/Unrest, temporary effects, monthly events and a year-end review when due. Reset for next month clears the round, visit and checklist marks. Move the month and year yourself. Calendar changes do not alter other records. FABLED WEAPON AND MYTHICAL ARMOR The far-right Fabled & Mythical character tab holds expansion equipment: - Fabled Weapon identity, type, runes and construction notes. - Six maneuver pool records, three prepared maneuvers and six Extra Impacts. - Three Mythical Armor pieces, each with room for three enhancements. Drag matching Equipment entries into the slots. Copy pool maneuvers into prepared slots with their drag handles or the Use in selector. Add impacts to the Primary/Secondary dice and enhancements to their armor pieces. Separate manual equip switches select the Fabled Weapon and Mythical Armor for the main character view and snapshot aids. Ordinary equipment stays saved separately and returns when its expansion equip switch is turned off. No construction cost, progress or game prerequisite is applied automatically. OVERLAND MAPS Use Rivers, Roads and Walls to draw paths. Nodes snap to hex centers and edge midpoints. Use Lake for a closed blue-filled shape. Select a drawn feature to edit its name, notes, color and width where applicable; drag nodes to adjust it. Draft points can be undone or canceled; saved edits use Undo. For land covering several hexes, select the region's terrain. Area choices are Barren, Burnt Woodland, Fields, Grassland, Heathland, Hills, Lake, Marshland, Meadow, Rocky, Shrubland and Woodland. Original repeating SVG textures fill the entire region, grow with it, and retain custom colors. Region numbers and labels remain above the terrain and pin layers. The overland symbol key includes Plot landmarks such as abandoned dwellings, orchards, animal burrows, dens, mounds, quarries, rocky outcrops, stone circles, stone platforms and homesteads. Existing building, camp, cave, monument, hole, well, ruin and tower symbols are reused where appropriate. Maps remain hex-based overland. SVG exports include the vector terrain and drawn features. Map notes and records stay independent for manual play. EXISTING TOOLS - Physical 3D dice, the two-spot tray, extra landing cards for larger pools, held dice, rerolls, Primary/Secondary colors, sound and named expressions. - Configurable hotbars, with Attack Roll and Room Size on new campaigns. - Numbered dungeon rooms/corridors, Lair presets, cavern walls, boundaries, doors, a shared-wall eraser, pins and linked maps. - The Current Place panel and a numbered journal for each map/floor. - Personal tables imported from CSV, text or paste; optional table codes; highlighted result snapshots; one-click result-to-place journal links. - Editable character, Equipment, Bestiary and Inventory records. - Legendary character fields, Extra Impacts, Armor Enhancements and powers. - Player/creature snapshot rolls and optional damage previews; HP stays manual. - Progress tracks, local PDF references, bookmarks and copyable page links. - Light/dark themes, manual-edit undo/redo and portable campaign exports.
